Version 1 – with beans
Ingredients
- 2 lb lean ground beef
- 2 lb round steak, cut in small pieces
- 56 oz tomato sauce
- 15 oz can pinto beans, drained and rinsed
- 4 pkg chili seasoning mix
- 1 onion, diced
- 1 bell pepper, diced
- 4 Tbsp chili powder
- 2 Tbsp garlic pepper
- 2 Tbsp brown sugar
- 2 tsp salt
- 6 Jalapeños, chopped
Instructions
- Brown ground beef and round steak with onion and bell pepper, then drain the grease.
- Put all ingredients in a large pot and simmer for a couple hours or cook in a crock pot on low.
- Add water as necessary.
Version 2 – no beans
Ingredients
- 3 lb lean ground beef
- 14.5 oz can Rotél tomatoes
- 2 pkg chili seasoning mix
- 1 large onion, diced
- 1 small bell pepper, diced
- 2 Tbsp chili powder
- 2 Tbsp garlic powder
- 4 Jalapeños, chopped
- Salt
- Pepper
- Other seasonings to taste
Instructions
- Brown ground beef with onions and bell peppers, then drain the grease.
- Put all ingredients in a large pot and simmer for a couple hours or cook in a crock pot on low.
- Add water or tomato sauce as necessary.
