Dressing: Turkey

for a 12 to 14 lb turkey

Ingredients

  • 1 lb giblets, ground or chopped fine
  • 1 bunch green onions, chopped fine
  • 1 cup parsley, chopped fine
  • 1 cup celery, chopped fine
  • 4 eggs, beaten
  • 2 sticks butter or margarine
  • 1 and 1/2 lb bread, toasted
  • Salt
  • Pepper

Instructions

  1. Boil giblets before grinding or chopping.
  2. Soak bread in a bowl of water while preparing the other ingredients.
  3. Sauté giblets and green onions in butter until brown. Add the parsley and celery and let cook for 15 minutes. Allow to cool for 30 minutes.
  4. Add the eggs to the mixture.
  5. Squeeze the bread as dry as possible then add it to the mixture.
  6. Salt and pepper to taste.
  7. Mix all of the ingredients then stuff dressing inside the turkey. Or cook it separately in a casserole dish at 350 degrees for 1 1⁄2 hours or until done.
