for a 12 to 14 lb turkey
Ingredients
- 1 lb giblets, ground or chopped fine
- 1 bunch green onions, chopped fine
- 1 cup parsley, chopped fine
- 1 cup celery, chopped fine
- 4 eggs, beaten
- 2 sticks butter or margarine
- 1 and 1/2 lb bread, toasted
- Salt
- Pepper
Instructions
- Boil giblets before grinding or chopping.
- Soak bread in a bowl of water while preparing the other ingredients.
- Sauté giblets and green onions in butter until brown. Add the parsley and celery and let cook for 15 minutes. Allow to cool for 30 minutes.
- Add the eggs to the mixture.
- Squeeze the bread as dry as possible then add it to the mixture.
- Salt and pepper to taste.
- Mix all of the ingredients then stuff dressing inside the turkey. Or cook it separately in a casserole dish at 350 degrees for 1 1⁄2 hours or until done.
