Oatmeal: Steel-Cut

4 Servings

  • Cooking spray or oil
  • 1 1/2 cups steel-cut oats
  • 4 cups milk
  • 1/8 tsp coarse sea salt
  • Maple syrup or other sweetener

  1. Use spray or oil to lightly coat the pot.
  2. Add the oats, milk, and salt.
  3. Add other ingredients from variations below, and mix well.
  4. Pressure cook on high for 12 minutes, allow a natural release for 20 minutes, then quick release.
  5. Serve with sweetener and additional milk as desired.
  6. Add other ingredients from variations below, stir and serve.

Spiced Apple Walnut

  • 1 1/2 cups unsweetened applesauce
  • 2 small apples, peeled, cored, and diced
  • 1 1/2 tsp cinnamon
  • 1/2 tsp ginger
  • 1/2 tsp cardamom
  • 2 tsp vanilla
  • 1/2 cup chopped walnuts for garnish

Chocolate Peanut Butter Banana

  • 2 Tbsp unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1 1/2 tsp vanilla
  • 1/2 cinnamon
  • 3 medium bananas, mashed
  • 1/4 cup peanut butter after pressure release
  • Dark chocolate, bananas, toasted coconut flakes for garnish
