Texas Trash: Smoked

Use the traditional Texas Trash dry ingredients or the following:

Dry Ingredients

  • 2 cups traditional Chex Mix
  • 2 cups cheddar Chex Mix
  • 2 cups Bugles
  • 1 cup mixed nuts

Sauce Ingredients

Use the traditional Texas Trash sauce or the following:

  • 8 Tbsp (1 stick) butter
  • 2 Tbsp Pitt Boss Cowboy Butter Rub
  • 1 tsp cayenne pepper (optional)
  1. Preheat grill to 275.
  2. Combine dry ingredients in a large bowl.
  3. Melt butter, then stir in Cowboy Butter Rub and cayenne pepper.
  4. Pour sauce over dry ingredients and stir well.
  5. Transfer ingredients to a large aluminum pan and place on upper rack of grill.  
  6. Smoke for 40 minutes, mixing every 10 minutes.
  7. Turn off heat and continue smoking for another hour or two, stirring every 10 minutes.  
  8. Remove from smoker and enjoy some of the best party mix on the planet .
