In the early 2000s, a friend asked Ann Marie Connolly for a drink to get the party started. The home bar was fairly empty. Ann grabbed the vodka and coconut rum, and the Party Starter cocktail was born. It is a refreshing, easy-to-make cocktail when you are preparing to going out on the town. The recipe is an approximation as Ann pours straight from the bottle to the glass.
- 3 oz coconut rum
- 2 oz vodka
- Splash of grenadine (optional for color)
- Seltzer water (optional for fizz)
- Fill a Lowball glass with ice.
- Add ingredients, top with seltzer water, and stir.
- Garnish with a maraschino cherry.
