Navy Grog

Alongside the Mai Tai and the Zombie, the Navy Grog is considered a tiki staple and one of the three original tiki cocktails created by Donn Beach (Don the Beachcomber). 

  • 1 oz aged dark Jamaican rum
  • 1 oz Demerara rum (such as El Dorado or Lemon Hart)
  • 1 oz light rum
  • 3/4 oz lime juice
  • 3/4 oz white grapefruit juice
  • 1 oz honey syrup (1:1 honey and water mixture)
  • 3/4 oz seltzer water
  • 1 dash of Angostura bitters
  1. Shake all ingredients except seltzer water with crushed ice.
  2. Pour unstrained (dirty dump) into a large lowball glass and top with ice.
  3. Stir in seltzer water.
  4. Garnish with a mint sprig or lime wedge.
