Alongside the Mai Tai and the Zombie, the Navy Grog is considered a tiki staple and one of the three original tiki cocktails created by Donn Beach (Don the Beachcomber).
- 1 oz aged dark Jamaican rum
- 1 oz Demerara rum (such as El Dorado or Lemon Hart)
- 1 oz light rum
- 3/4 oz lime juice
- 3/4 oz white grapefruit juice
- 1 oz honey syrup (1:1 honey and water mixture)
- 3/4 oz seltzer water
- 1 dash of Angostura bitters
- Shake all ingredients except seltzer water with crushed ice.
- Pour unstrained (dirty dump) into a large lowball glass and top with ice.
- Stir in seltzer water.
- Garnish with a mint sprig or lime wedge.
