The Penicillin cocktail, created by New York City bartender Sam Ross in 2005, derives its name from the antibiotic discovered by Scottish scientist Alexander Fleming.
- Large format ice
- 2 oz blended Scotch
- 3/4 oz lemon juice
- 3/4 oz honey-ginger syrup
- 1/4 oz smoky Islay peat single malt Scotch for the float.
- Add the to a lowball glass.
- Shake blended scotch, lemon juice, and honey-ginger syrup.
- Strain into glass.
- Gently float the smoky Scotch using the back of a bar spoon.
- No garnish.
