Penicillin

The Penicillin cocktail, created by New York City bartender Sam Ross in 2005, derives its name from the antibiotic discovered by Scottish scientist Alexander Fleming.

  • Large format ice
  • 2 oz blended Scotch
  • 3/4 oz lemon juice
  • 3/4 oz honey-ginger syrup
  • 1/4 oz smoky Islay peat single malt Scotch for the float.
  1. Add the to a lowball glass.
  2. Shake blended scotch, lemon juice, and honey-ginger syrup.
  3. Strain into glass.
  4. Gently float the smoky Scotch using the back of a bar spoon.
  5. No garnish.
