Sparkling Julep

This can be served in a Champagne flute or a lowball glass. Instructions are the same.

Instructions

  1. Chill a Champagne flute or lowball glass.
  2. Add lime juice, simple syrup, mint leaves, and Cognac to shaker and muddle lightly.
  3. Add some ice, then shake.
  4. Strain into glass and top with sparkling wine. 
  5. If lowball glass, garnish with mint sprig or lime peel or wheel.

Champagne Flute

  • 1/2 oz lime juice
  • 1/2 oz simple syrup 
  • 4 to 6 mint leaves
  • 1 oz Cognac or bourbon
  •  Sparkling wine or champagne

Lowball Glass

  • 1 oz lime juice
  • 1 oz simple syrup 
  • 6 to 8 mint leaves
  • 2 oz Cognac or bourbon
  •  Sparkling wine or champagne
