Rum Punch

The following ratio is the most reliable way to make a high-quality punch.

  • 1 part sour: lime juice.
  • 2 parts sweet: simple syrup and grenadine.
  • 3 parts strong: 1 or more rums (traditionally dark or blends).
  • 4 parts weak: water, tea, and/or tropical fruit juices (pineapple/orange).
  • 1 oz lime juice
  • 1.5 oz simple syrup
  • 1/2 oz grenadine
  • 2 oz dark rum
  • 1 oz coconut rum or other flavor
  • 2 oz pineapple juice
  • 2 oz orange juice
  1. Fill a hurricane glass with ice.
  2. Shake all ingredients with some ice.
  3. Strain into glass.
  4. Garnish with dash of nutmeg, maraschino cherry, and a lime wheel.
